Your one step toward NCCAP Certification
Session One:
July 30- August 1
Covering the administrative aspects of the Activities Department including but not limited to, job descriptions, interviewing, management and termination of employees and volunteers. This session also includes an in depth presentation of recruitment and retention of volunteers in students facilities

Session Two:
September 17 - 19
A variety of management techniques will be presented to enhance the activity professionals management of staff and volunteers. This session covers ethical practices, values identification of activities delivery, becoming an agent of change as well as team building.
Session Three:
October 22 - 24
A life of dialog, leadership and advocacy issues are also presented, and includes time management techniques, public relations programming, marketing of the activities department as well as the facility and establishing an educational component for teaching others about the facility and the activities department.
This is a hybrid course and there are additional interactions outside of the face-to-face presentations. The student will need to complete all of the assignments as well as participate in the online interactions.
Student must attend all four sessions and complete the 90 hour practicum. This course also contains homework assignments, projects, presentations and a final exam. Each student will need to select a Practicum Supervisor prior to the start of the class. The practicum can be completed at their facility. If the student is not currently at a facility, they will have to find one to complete the assignments
This course covers the Core Competencies 11-20 in the MEPAP 2nd Edition.
It includes 90 clock hours of face to face classroom time and 90 clock hours of a practicum which can be completed at the students facility.
Time will be allotted to complete the practicum.
The entire course meets one of the requirements for NCCAP Certification. You can access additional information concerning NCCAP Certification by visiting their website at www.nccap.org.
NCCAP Certification is recognized by CMS as a qualifier for an Activities Director and an Activities Assistant. FTag249 refers to a “qualified activities director”.
This course is part one of two parts of the MEPAP. You will need to successfully complete part two as well, in order to apply for your ADC or ACC.
The cost of the course includes the training manual as well as the cost of Part one. Classes start at 9:00AM. Students will be required to attend all four sessions.
The MEPAP course is your first step toward national certification and is recognized by CMS.
